Betti multiplets, flows across dimensions and c-extremization
We consider 4d N=1 SCFTs, topologically twisted on compact constant curvature
Riemann surfaces, giving rise to 2d N=(0,2) SCFTs. The exact R-current of these
2d SCFT extremizes the central charge c_{2d}, similarly to the 4d picture,
where the exact R-current maximizes the central charge a_{4d}. There are global
currents that do not mix with the R-current in 4d but their mixing becomes non
trivial in 2d. In this paper we study the holographic dual of this process by
analyzing a 5d N=2 truncation of T^{1,1} with one Betti vector multiplet, dual
to the baryonic current on the CFT side. The holographic realization of the
flow across dimensions connects AdS_5 to AdS_3 vacua in the supergravity
picture. We verify the existence of the flow to AdS_3 solutions and we retrieve
the field theory results for the mixing of the Betti vector with the
graviphoton. Moreover, we extract the central charge from the Brown-Henneaux
formula, matching with the results obtained in field theory. We develop a
general formalism to obtain the central charge of a 2d SCFT from 5d N=2 gauged
supergravity with a generic number of vector multiplets, showing that its
extremization corresponds to an attractor mechanism for the scalars in the
supergravity picture.Comment: 28 pages, 5 figures, typos fixed and additional explanations adde
SQCD with antisymmetric: dualities and symmetry enhancements
We study various aspects of the 4d/3d reduction of dualities
involving gauge theories with fundamentals and one
antisymmetric. We discuss the non-trivial role played by the monopole
superpotentials in the reduction and obtain new 3d dualities for models with
both symplectic and unitary gauge groups. For we observe interesting
webs of dualities and symmetry enhancements, recovering and extending some
results already appeared in the literature.Comment: 42 pages, 3 figures, improved discussions and references adde
A journey to 3d: exact relations for adjoint SQCD from dimensional reduction
In this note we elaborate on the reduction of four dimensional Seiberg
duality with adjoint matter to three dimensions. We use the exact formulation
of the superconformal index and of the partition function as instruments to
test this reduction. We translate the identity between indices of the dual 4d
theories to 3d. This produces various new identities between partition
functions of 3d dual phases.Comment: 18 pages, appendix added on the large mass scaling of the partition

Spin(7) duality for N=1 CS-matter theories
In this paper we propose a duality for non-holomorphic N=1 CS-matter theories
living on M2 branes probing Spin(7) cones. We call this duality Spin(7)
duality. Two theories are named Spin(7) dual if they have the same moduli
space: a real Spin(7) cone with base a weak G_2 manifold, and they are hence
holographic dual to the same AdS_4 x G_2 M theory solution. We provide a
systematic way to generate these dualities, derived by combining toric duality
for N=2 CS-matter theories and generalized non-holomorphic orientifold
projections to N=1. Brane construction, AdS/CFT correspondence, and the
computation of the moduli space support our proposal at the classical level and
provide some arguments at the quantum strong coupling regime. The relation with
Seiberg-like duality is also analyzed.Comment: 37 pages, 3 figure
